Although we're proud of our products, services, and technology, nothing matches the pride we have in our staff. You see, we learned long ago that we're really in the business of building relationships. For that reason, we put a premium on hiring only the most qualified individuals to serve on our team.
Every person on our staff is committed to providing excellent customer service and producing high-quality products and services. As you work with us in the future, we're confident that you'll find this to be true.
CEO, Working Boss
Walt Markus has been working since he was old enough to stand on a wood crate and work in his dad's shop imprinting Christmas Cards. His first investment was his bicycle — hence his salesman career started. Walt finished high school early and in 1969 he graduated from San Fernado Valley State College with a B.S. in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve 155th Supply & Service Battalion from 1972 to 1975.
Walt incorporated Gateway Press in 1981. He and his wife, Chris, have been enjoying the small town life in Murphys for more than three decades.
Kelsey Markus-Sterrett & Shyanne Sterrett
Kelsey has been working at Gateway Press since she was born. as Walt's daughter, she has done a little bit of everything. Since 2018, she has returned in a more permanent role doing marketing and customer relations. In September of 2019, we added to our staff with Kelsey's daughter, Walt's granddaughter, Shyanne, who is a part time greater.
Payables and Payroll
Jeanann Rogers has been with Gateway Press since September 1994. She has now "retired" but still comes to help with payables and payroll. Occasionally, we bring her in to use her experience in production as well.

He also trains personnel on the "Sam" (4' x 4') press, the "Bob" (4' x 10') press, and all the processes of reclaiming screens. in 2019, he expanded his knowledge and talents to textile screen printing as well.
He is a true artist at producing museum quality decals and signage on his press. He is a "Major Press Technician" in figuring out how to print all the screen print challenges presented to us by clients!
